OIL/PETROLEUM RELEASES

TO WATER: Any release must be reported as soon as a person has knowledge of it.

TO LAND: Any release in excess of 55 gallons must be reported as soon as the person has knowledge of it. Any release in excess of 10 gallons but less than 55 gallons must be reported within 48 hrs of knowledge of the release. The person in charge of a facility or an operation to maintain and provide the DEC with written record of oil discharge from 1 to 10 gallons on a monthly basis.
